While many things were achieved during my recent visit to Scotland, the most notable was the invention of the DS Drinking Game. Its a simple, sophisticated way of imbibing a shedload of alcohol very quickly.
Here’s a live demonstration….
And here is how it works….
in the style of a secondary school science-class-experiement write-up…
The Grieve/Flak Method of Electronic Alcohol Engagement
Aim:
The ingest- (and digest-) ment of vast quantities of alcohol, via the entertainment medium of a Nintendo DS.
Apparatus:
- 2 Nintendo DS’s
- 1 New Super Mario Bros DS gamepak
- 1 700ml Captain Morgans Dark Rum
- 1 1000ml Smirnoff Triple Distilled Vodka
- 1 2000ml Coca-Cola
- 2 1000ml Tesco Kick
- 2 medium-size glass tumblers
- 2 human subjects (willingness to participate optional)
- 1 portion of nerves-like-steel
- 2 portions of cat-like-reflexes
Method:
- Place tumblers on worktop.
- Fill one with Captain Morgans and Coca-cola and the other with Smirnoff and Kick.
- Place both participants facing each other, near the tumblers.
- Place a Nintendo DS in the hands of each participant.
- Start the DS’s and direct them to the multiplayer version of the stop-marios-head-from-being-eaten-by-piranha-plants-by-drawing-lines game.
- Start the game.
- Each participant endeavours to stop the mario head form being eaten by drawing lines to direct it to the star.
- One a participant successfully achieves this, the opposing player must drink.
- The game continues in this fashion until mario gets eaten, in which case the participant at fault must finish all their drink.
Results:
The results of the experiment were, for the most part, inconclusive. All parties involved seem to have vague recollections or understandings of the final stages of the experiment phase. So here we will simply provide the raw data gathered.
- muttering inane gibberish and quoting TV, “…pork pie sausage roll”
- complete recital of “The Saga Begins” by Weird Al Yankovich
- black-outs
- spillage
- sense of loss
- enhanced ego
- lies
- etc…
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the DS is a powerful tool for the imbibing of alcoholic liquids, just don’t spill any on the unit itself.
