The DS Drinking Game

While many things were achieved during my recent visit to Scotland, the most notable was the invention of the DS Drinking Game. Its a simple, sophisticated way of imbibing a shedload of alcohol very quickly.

Here’s a live demonstration….

And here is how it works….

in the style of a secondary school science-class-experiement write-up…

Windows Vista – horrific beauty…

This morning Slashdot pointed out a post by Chalain on livejournal.com, an interesting poetic analogy, well worth a read!

Proof of Amy’s Party

Thanks to Mickey, his over-zealous use of the camera on his phone and his need to take advantage of drunk people, we have photographic evidence of Amy’s birthday party.

The VCR Lives On!

As a product of recent boredom and a male desire to build, I built the redundant parts of ye computers of old into a rather fetching black Toshiba VCR, the result was rather pleasing.

Depite some heat issues with the lack of air-flow in the case, the system performed rather admirably at its first public trial on Saturday, Amy’s birthday party. Only going crazy from heat-related injuries once or twice (every three hours :P).

Next big step is to get some kind of structured air flow into it and connect up the original power buttons.

Wish me luck!

Google Calendar!!
Finally I find a personal planner that can do everything I need from it. Bye bye Outlook, never again will I see your ugly face. Google Calendar easily imported everything from Outlook, and then with a few web-searches (on google oddly enough) I found out I could get it to sync with my mobile. EVEN BETTER, when I had a little look around the calendar’s settings I discovered that Google would send me reminders for all my meetings and appointments via text message…. FOR FREE. Every morning I wake up to a complimentary text from Google summarising my events for the impending day! Combining all this functionality with the Google Calendar Notifier Plugin for Firefox and I’m ecstatic!
